The problem

What goes wrong without this.

Industrial businesses accumulate IT rather than plan it. A network installed when the plant was built, servers added as needs arose, a mix of licensed and unmanaged software, and backups that have never been tested by attempting a restore.

This works until it does not. The failure modes are predictable — a ransomware incident that reaches production systems because the office and plant networks were never segmented, a server failure with no tested recovery path, or a custom application that only its original developer understands.

Industrial IT also has a requirement general providers frequently miss: the plant network carries control traffic where latency and availability affect production directly, and it cannot be managed on the same assumptions as an office environment.

What we do

Capabilities in this service

  • Custom software development and application design for industrial and business processes
  • Systems integration between ERP, MES, control systems and third-party applications
  • IT infrastructure design, deployment and ongoing management
  • Network design and implementation including plant and office network segmentation
  • Cloud computing — migration, hosting, backup and disaster recovery
  • Cybersecurity — assessment, hardening, access control, endpoint protection and incident response planning
  • Data centre and server room design, setup and management
  • Managed IT support with defined response commitments
  • IT-enabled services and business process management
  • Software licensing, asset management and compliance

Our process

How the engagement runs

Stage-wise, with the deliverable and typical duration for each. Timelines vary with project scale and authority response — these are indicative rather than contractual.

  1. 1

    IT assessment

    2–3 weeks

Infrastructure inventory, network architecture review, security posture assessment, backup and recovery testing, and a register of risks in current operation.

Deliverable: IT assessment and risk register

  2. 2

    Architecture and planning

    2–4 weeks

Target architecture covering infrastructure, network segmentation, cloud posture and security controls, with a phased plan and cost.

Deliverable: Target architecture and implementation plan

  3. 3

    Implementation

    Scope-dependent

Infrastructure deployment, network reconfiguration, migration, application development or integration, and security control implementation.

    Deliverable: Implemented infrastructure and applications

  4. 4

    Testing and cutover

    2–4 weeks

Functional testing, security validation, backup and restore verification against actual recovery, and controlled cutover.

Deliverable: Test records and verified recovery capability

  5. 5

    Managed support

    Ongoing

Ongoing monitoring, patching, backup verification, helpdesk support and periodic security review under a defined service arrangement.

Deliverable: Managed service with agreed response commitments

Make the plant intelligent.

Why NITS Corp

Why bring this to us

We understand OT as well as IT

Plant networks carry control traffic where availability affects production directly. They need segmentation and management assumptions that office IT providers routinely miss.

Recovery verified by restoring

Backups are tested by performing an actual restore. A backup that has never been restored is an assumption, not a capability.

Documented and transferable

Architecture, credentials, licences and application documentation are handed over. You should never be unable to change provider.

FAQ

Common questions

Do you provide ongoing IT support or only projects?
Both. Many clients begin with an assessment and remediation project and continue on managed support. Response commitments are defined against business impact, with production-affecting systems treated differently from office systems.
How do you handle plant network security?
The core measure is segmentation between office and control networks, with controlled and monitored traffic between them. Most industrial ransomware incidents that reach production do so through a flat network where a compromised office machine had a direct path to control systems.
Can you develop custom software?
Yes — production tracking, quality management, maintenance management, dispatch and similar operational applications, along with integrations between systems that do not talk to each other. We will also tell you when a configured off-the-shelf product is the better answer.
What happens to our systems if we stop working with you?
You retain everything — infrastructure documentation, credentials, source code for anything we develop, licences held in your name and application documentation. Transition support is included, because lock-in is a risk to you rather than a benefit to us.

Discuss your it & ites requirement.

A short conversation is usually enough to tell you whether the project is viable, what it will take, and what it should cost. There is no charge for that first discussion.
